Key Qualifications:

• Valid Louisiana Teaching License/Certification with appropriate ESL endorsements
• Experience teaching in general education or ESL settings, especially with school-aged children
• Strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiated instructional strategies
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students from various cultural backgrounds
• Effective classroom management and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement dynamic lessons to enhance reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for non-native English speakers
• Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment that respects each student’s individual needs and backgrounds
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional approaches to maximize growth
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Maintain detailed records relating to student achievement, attendance, and any required reporting
