Graphic Designer – Embroidery & Apparel Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a custom embroidery shop in search of an Graphic Designer. We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Graphic Designer to join our production team. In this role, you will prepare, vectorize, and optimize artwork for custom embroidery and apparel decoration. The ideal candidate possesses experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Adobe Illustrator) and understands how graphic design translates into physical stitch patterns, threads, and textiles. The Graphic Designer is a full-time, temp to hire position in Brooklyn Park, MN. 

Graphic Designer – Embroidery & Apparel Job Responsibilities: 

• Prepare, clean up, and vectorize customer-provided artwork into production-ready vector graphics using Adobe Illustrator.
• Convert raster images (JPEGs, PNGs) into high-quality vector files suitable for digitizing and embroidery software.
• Adjust line weights, text sizes, and design elements to ensure clear definition and readability when stitched onto various fabrics.
• Create digital art proofs and mockups for customer review and approval.
• Collaborate with machine operators and production staff to ensure artwork files match physical thread colors, garment placements, and machine specifications.
• Manage, organize, and archive vector art files, customer assets, and embroidery proof histories.
• Quality-check test stitch-outs against original artwork to verify alignment, detail retention, and overall accuracy.

Graphic Designer – Embroidery & Apparel Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent practical experience.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator (Vector tracing, Pen tool mastery, color separation, path adjustments).
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop (Image editing, raster cleanup, prepress prep).
  • Familiarity with embroidery digitizing software (e.g., Wilcom, Pulse, Hatch) is a strong plus, though vector art preparation skills are primary.
• Experience: 1–3 years of graphic design experience, preferably in screen printing, embroidery, signs, or promotional product industries.
• • Strong eye for typography, color theory, and spatial layout.
  • Understanding of embroidery constraints (minimum text heights, stitch densities, small-detail translation onto fabric).
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with sales, production, and customers.
  • Strong organizational habits with precise attention to detail in high-volume environments.
