Description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Long Term Care unit requiring an Alaska license in hand, previous travel experience, and at least 1 year of LTC experience.

Details

Long Term Care facility setting with 40 staffed beds
Patient ratio of 1:20
4x12 hour shifts, either Days (0700-1930) or Nights (1900-0730), without rotation between shifts except for urgent staffing needs
26 or 13 week assignment options available
May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
ECS charting system used
No on-call requirements

Requirements

Current Alaska LPN/LVN license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
Previous travel assignment experience required
Current BLS certification required
Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee)
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

Responsibilities include patient admission, vital sign monitoring, medication administration, wound/skin care, ambulation assistance, blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, and foley catheter insertion
Scrub color is unrestricted
Free parking available onsite
Facility arranges shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at start and end of contract, plus local shuttle service in Seward
Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, must be submitted upfront with application
First-time travelers not accepted for this position
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
Candidates with Nursys or background check hits will not be accepted by the facility
